Quang Ninh 1 Thermal Power Station with a capacity of 2x300MW including 2 units was established on April 2, 2009.

On May 28, 2007, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company officially started construction of Quang Ninh 2 Thermal Power Plant.
