Hoa Phat is Vietnam’s leading industrial manufacturing group, with steel production and related products accounting for 90% of its revenue and profit, making it the core business of the Group.
With a total crude steel capacity of up to 15 million tons per year, Hoa Phat is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia and ranks among the Top 30 largest steel enterprises in the world. The Group applies modern, closed-loop blast furnace technology, covering the entire process from iron ore to hot-rolled coil (HRC), construction steel, and high-quality steel which used in mechanical engineering, structural applications, construction, railways, and more. Hoa Phat holds the No. 1 market share in Vietnam for long steel and is the only private enterprise in the country capable of producing HRC and various high-quality steel products.
Among its facilities, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex (Quang Ngai) is the Group’s largest and most advanced production site, with a designed capacity of nearly 12 million tons per year. Covering an area of 700 hectares and requiring a total investment of approximately USD 7 billion, the complex benefits from a deep-water port capable of receiving vessels up to 200,000 tons. It utilizes state-of-the-art technology from Europe and G7 countries. The complex’s output consists of 80% hot-rolled coil and high-quality steel, and the remaining 20% being construction steel.
Before investing in steel production in Quang Ngai province, Hoa Phat had been producing crude steel since 2001 in Hưng Yên province, with a capacity of over 400,000 tons per year. In 2007, the Group launched the Hoa Phat Hai Duong Integrated Steel Complex—the first modern closed-loop steelmaking facility using blast furnace and oxygen converter technology. This complex currently has a production capacity of 2.5 million tons of construction and high-quality steel per year.
With its existing capabilities, Hoa Phat is focusing on manufacturing high-quality steel products to replace imports. The Group is confident in its ability to research and produce rail steel, axle steel for trains and high-speed railways as per government orders, as well as other high-quality steel for key national projects and exports worldwide.
