Raw materials for iron and steel production, agriculture are essential goods
On July 27, 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a urgent document on groups of essential goods and services to the provincial Departments of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, the group of raw materials for production, including iron and steel, fertilizers, plant protection drugs, animal feed etc is one of the four essential goods groups prioritized for circulation in localities which have been under social distancing following the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s Directive 16.
Iron and steel are essential goods
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the document was issued because the concept of essential goods has not been uniformly understood in localities, causing difficulties for enterprises producing and trading in this field. In addition to the group of production materials, three other groups of essential goods include food; fuel, energy; and other goods serving local production and daily life.
On the same day, the ministry also submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister to allow normal circulation for necessary goods with conditions to ensure pandemic prevention, except for goods banned from trading or restricted business.

Iron and steel production complexes in Hai Duong and Quang Ngai provinces also arrange facilities for employees to implement Production - accommodation - living at the factories if it is needed.
